The Legal Landscape: Cannabis is Illegal in Daxi

Possession of even small amounts of cannabis can lead to up to five years in prison, along with heavy fines. In more serious cases, where trafficking or distribution is involved, the legal consequences become even harsher. Those caught selling or distributing marijuana can face up to seven years or more in prison, depending on the severity of the offense.

Despite these strict regulations, marijuana continues to be used covertly in various parts of Taiwan, including Daxi, largely due to the global discourse surrounding its potential health benefits and shifting public opinion.

Changing Attitudes: A Shift Among Younger Generations

While cannabis use remains strictly illegal in Taiwan, attitudes toward marijuana, particularly among younger generations, are gradually shifting.
